The second semester of the minor was a little more difficult than the first semester. In this semester, I started to create websites all on my own and create my own content in some instances. I created a total of four websites, two were microsites, one was a gallery of images to show I could write JavaScript, and the final site I worked on was a group project where we collectively worked and created the site. Creating the sites were the major projects that I was assigned throughout the semester, but I had a few minor assignments as well as blog posts that are showcases below.
Cycle
Before completing the cycle assignment I had to learn the basics of JavaScript. Professor Wallace assigned us to do the JavaScript tutorial on codeacademy. After completing the tutorial we were given a few images and told to make a slideshow gallery. I have linked the site below (click on the picture) because doing a slideshow would not illustrate that I learned to write code for JavaScript.
Segway
My segway centaur site was the first multi-page website I created in the minor. I was provided with all the content and images necessary to create the site. With only a few requirements I could create the site in any way that I wanted. The banner image across the top the page was a banner I created in Adobe Fireworks when in class I was learning how to optimize images. After completing this project, I wrote a blog post about the experience and an excerpt is below. Also below is the link to the site to experience its functionality and a slide show of the pages on the site.

Centaur
I never thought that I would be able to build a web page, let alone a microsite. However, I did just that. The first page I made I made was my index.html page and made a template to base my other pages off of, so I didn’t have to write four pages of code. This […]

Ginger Snips
Creating the Ginger Snips website was my favorite site to create because I had complete creative control over the site, including what images, and content that I wanted. I created the site to serve as a template for the site my sister wants for her vinyl design shop. I learned quite a lot in creating this site because I had complete creative control, I learned so much about implementing unique colors, patterns, and fonts. A link to the site and screenshots of the are below.

Pizza Geeks
The EIT Pizzeria project was my final project of the semester. This was a group project assignment and we worked on it for half of the semester. We had to create a website and database. (To know more about the database click here.) During the project, I was the team’s project manager and in that role, I communicated the wishes of the clients to the web team and I also helped work on a variety of different aspects that needed to be finished for the project to be completed. A key aspect of the website that I worked on was, creating color schemes and font choices that fit with the theme of the website.

Geeking out about Pizza
Trello, On Thursday, March 30, I met with my team which would later be known as Gemini V. During our very first meeting we discussed our strengths and what we were good at doing. I was willing to work on the database with Lili, but we needed a project manager. Nobody volunteered for the position […]
Adobe Fireworks Assignment
I learned how to use Adobe Fireworks to create web-optimized images. One of my assignments was to follow a tutorial on how to create a folder in Adobe Fireworks. It was a very tedious and time-consuming process. I also created banners for my microsites.
