Communication

A unique aspect of the IT minor program is the communications part of the program and it is an essential part of the program. It may seem at first that it is odd that I had to give speeches and presentations as an IT minor, but it is not. Web designers and developers have to interact with their clients, so professional communication skills are necessary. Most of what I learned in the communications section of the minor was about group work and communication in a group to not only prepare my fellow classmates and me for our capstone project but also for when we had team projects in our careers. The communications section was discussion-based, therefore, most of my assignments were blog post reflections about class or an article we were assigned to read.
